FExplorer is a file manager for Symbian phones with extra features for managing tasks, viewing processes and making screen captures.
Before you install FExplorer you'll need to 'sign' the app with Symbian for it to run on your device. This is annoying, but it's not very difficult if you follow these instructions on the developer's site.
Once you've installed FExplorer you'll immediately notice how much neater and clearer it is than the default S60 file manager. The icons and names of drives, folders and files are smaller, making it easier to view their contents at a glance. The colors can be customized to your liking, too.
Browsing directories in FExplorer is done by clicking on a folder to view its contents. You can go back by clicking on the '...' symbol at the top. By highlighting a file or folder and selecting 'Options' you're able to view information about its properties as well as cutting, copying, and pasting it.
FExplorer also lets you view running processes and tasks very easily. Unfortunately you're restricted to just looking though, and there's no tool for closing apps or processes. FExplorer boasts a number of other helpful tools such as screenshot utility, Bluetooth manager, memory compressor and application installer.
Although it doesn't bring much new file management functionality to the Symbian operating system, FExplorer does provide a more user friendly way to take control of your phone's contents.
